ADF dinner raises the trunk
Last Thursday’s (8th December), ADF Dinner at the Birmingham Hilton Metropole Hotel, brought one of the largest collections for industry charity BEN for several years. The traditional charity appeal for BEN at the ADF’s Annual Dinner and Awards moved up a gear from previous years with the table collection supplemented by two outstanding special donations. ADF Members and their guests were treated to the premiere of a new video presentation for BEN, which combined style, messages and moving images to convey to the viewer the work that BEN does and the effect upon the recipient of BEN’s help. The new video has been produced for BEN by ‘WithTM’ the Manchester-based creative communications agency and has been sponsored by Sogiefi (the Fram, Coopers and Crosland filters brands), Unipart Automotive, NGK Spark Plugs, Federal Mogul UK Aftermarket and the ADF. Copies of the video are available for use at in-company employee presentations and can be obtained by emailing Unipart’s Tony Sackett, who is a BEN Trustee, at: tony_sackett@unipart.co.uk Two outstanding contributions towards the BEN appeal came with, first, a donation of £2,500 from Chris Jeffries of ADL-Blue Print, to celebrate his company’s triumph in winning the coveted ADF Supplier of the Year Award. Secondly, Vauxhall Trade Club announced a donation of £3,000; a move which caused a certain amount of ironic applause from the predominately independent aftermarket audience but, nevertheless, a very welcome addition to the Aftermarket Challenge. These donations, coupled with the table collection produced a total of £11,700 – a superb figure that will go to help BEN’s important work. Well done everyone! Note: If you are interested in doing or sponsoring a sponsored tandem skydive for BEN next April, please telephone Nicola Howlett on 01634 261 262 now!
