Further change at the RMIF
Gary Elliott, Director of Sales and Marketing at the Retail Motor Industry Federation (RMIF), is leaving the Federation at the end of December after nearly two years in the role. He had been brought in to develop and implement an extensive relaunch of the RMIF's marketing, recruitment and communications programmes. Elliott said: 'I've had an exciting time at the RMIF, and hugely enjoyed the challenge of helping to develop the Federation's strategy and its new message to members. Throughout 2006, we have taken some significant steps towards modernising the RMIF brand, improving our communication and increasing the value of membership. As a result, the RMIF can be confident of moving into a successful future'. Kevin Waterman, RMIF Interim Managing Director, added: 'Gary has made a tremendous contribution to the Federation and its activities, particularly with respect to member communications - our relaunched website has more than doubled its visitors in six months. We wish him well in his future roles.' This follows the departure of chief executive, Matthew Carrington at the end of October and the standing down of current president, Keith Sayfritz from the end of the year. An announcement about the identity of Mr Sayfritz's successor is expected shortly.
