A blaze tore through a tyre plant on Friday.
More than 40 firefighters were called to tackle the situation at the Bandvulc tyre recycling plant on the Lee Mill Industrial estate in Plymouth.
Due to the billowing smoke, people in other businesses on the estate were told to leave the area. Local press reported that at one point the toxic fog was so thick that it was extremely dangerous to drive along the nearby A38.
Despite the amount of smoke, around half of the plant has survived relatively undamaged.
While no cause for the fire has been given, it was not connected to the civil disturbances elsewhere in the country.
