EquipAuto claiming good visitor numbers, despite transport chaos

Aftermarket trade show EquipAuto has entered its fourth day – and organisers suggest that there have been a record number of visitors so far.

This is despite chaos on France’s infrastructure due to a wildcat train strike bringing much of Paris to a halt as would-be commuters took to the capital’s already congested roads.

In addition, a stoppage on the Sea France ferry line made visiting the show more complicated for some international visitors.

Despite this, organisers insisted they were on track for a predicted 5% increase in the number of visitors – due mainly to an increase in interest in the show from Russian visitors.

Speaking about the visitor numbers Mario Fiems, exhibition manager, expects numbers to be up on last year:  “[We expect] a 12.5% increase in the number of exhibitors, 5% in the number of visitors and 25% more gross exhibition space [compared to last year]”.
