Geely plans launch of 'upper medium' Emgrand in UK

GOT a thing for cheap Chinese cars? If so, then you’ll be pleased to know that the Geely brand is heading to the UK soon.

Geely plans to bring a C-segment car to the UK with similar dimensions to the Nissan Primera. The new car will be known as Emgrand and will cost around £10,000.

Matthew Cheyene of Geely UK said: “Geely cars are already suitable for Europe and meet EU homologation and whole vehicle type approval and of course Euro 5 emissions.  They are all well- equipped products but at affordable prices and will carry a five-year, 100,000 mile warranty”.

The firm isn’t entirely unknown in the UK. Currently the company is one of the volume car producers and owns, among other brands Volvo cars and Manganese Bronze – the maker of London Taxis. Incredibly, the black cabs are now built in China and simply now have final assembly in the UK.
