THE MOT test fee will remain at the current level for the foreseeable future, according to a source at the Department for Transport.
According to the source, Ministers have decided that the burden on motorists is high enough and so the department has taken the decision ‘not to impose additional costs at the present time’.
Currently the maximum test fee for Class IV passenger cars is £54.85. MOT stations are allowed to charge anything up to this figure, meaning that discounts are commonplace.
