Everything starts with an E-mark

Bulb maker Osram has warned that inadequate bulbs could fail the MOT due to not giving a ‘good beam pattern’. 

In a bulletin, the firm notes that: “Many so called E-marked bulbs are on the market and when in use do not give a good beam pattern and so cause MOT failure and glare to oncoming drivers.”

The document adds that: “Just because a bulb has an E-mark it does not mean that it is of good quality, even if it is in a known brand packet.”
