A couple of months ago we looked at the rising problem of catalytic converter theft and bemoaned the lack of products to help prevent it. The problem is getting worse too – last month, we heard of one company in the aftermarket that had its vans targeted… Ironically, the firm is in the business of supplying exhaust components.
As if by magic, one company responded with this new offering. The maker of the Catlock says it is a highly secure and cost effective catalytic converter anti-theft device. The universal design allows a secure fitment to 99% of at-risk vehicles, without affecting the operation of the converter.
The Catlock uses two security cables attached to the vehicle’s underbody during installation. It also comes with ISR security marking as standard. The ISR marking will deter thieves and the registration kit securely etches a unique code. The firm offers 24hr nationwide installation service to ensure vehicles aren’t taken off the road when they’re needed most.
