ECP backers acquire Kuhne

LKQ Europe and Sator plan to merge Kuhne with QH Netherlands

Published:  05 July, 2013

THE TWO financial backers of Euro Car Parts have acquired Netherlands-based parts distributor Kuhne.

U.S-based collision repair firm LKQ and European partner Sator will 'continue the activities' of Kuhne Automotive and will integrate QH Netherlands, which is also owned by the company, into the operation. The company states that all existing contracts will be honoured, day-to-day running will be unaffected and that Kuhne's headquarters in Hoevelaken will continue to run as normal.

Jan Von Doorn, manager of QH Netherlands has been appointed MD of Kuhne while Dino van Breugel, CEO and main shareholder of that company, has elected to step down.

Adriaan Roggeveen, CEO of Sator and board member of LKQ Europe said: "The acquisition of Kuhne fits into our growth strategy, both nationally and internationally."

The group says that the acquisition will increase turnover of Sator Holdings to Euro 340m, but has not revealed any further financial details.
