Published:  17 December, 2013

Entrants to Top Technician 2014 will be challenging for more than just the prestige of the title, as details of the bumper prize fund are released.

The winner of the annual competition will be announced at Top Technician Live at Mercedes-Benz World within the legendary Brooklands circuit complex, on May 30th 2014. As well as the title of Top Technician, the winner will be presented with a cheque for £2,500 - tax free - to spend on whatever they choose. The runner-up will also receive a cheque for £1,000 - double that of previous years. In addition, automotive business guru Mike Owen will provide the winner's business with a day's free on-site consultation, providing valuable advice on how to improve efficiency, work smarter and boost profit.

The competition's sponsors have also announced their prizes. Organiser Nicola St. Clair adds: "The winner will receive a G-Scan diagnostic tool complete with the AutoVista technical data and parts catalogue system from Blue Print. Gates will be handing over £1,000 holiday vouchers to the triumphant technician and rewarding the runner-up on May 30th with an iPad Mini. A further £1,000 of holiday vouchers from ZF will give the winning Top Tech the nicest possible headache as to where they'll choose to make their dream escape."

"The competition's sponsors are a generous lot, and it looks as if next year's winner and runner-up will again be rewarded with some fabulous prizes for themselves and their place of work," said Nicola.

Entrants also gain immediate access to an online forum where users can post information about any problem vehicles they have in the workshop, or ask for more general testing advice from a team of Top Tech winners and sponsor techs who are behind the scenes ready to help wherever they can.
