Discount offer for personal health checks

Prostate cancer checks lead to workshop offers

Published:  20 June, 2014

A garage mechanic is offering customers a discount in return for having an exam to ensure they are not suffering from prostate cancer.

Errol McKellar of Cremer Garage in London survived the cancer himself after he was diagnosed in 2010. His scheme has seen 3,000 customers accept the discount, with 23 of these being diagnosed with prostate cancer after their checks. Money discounted is donated to fund further research into the disease.

Speaking to the London Evening Standard, McKellar commented: "There's still much more to do. I only found out I had cancer because my wife sent me to the doctor about snoring and I picked up this leaflet about testing. Little did I know that those 10 minutes can change your life. Don't rely on lady luck ? get tested today."
