Seal of Approval

GroupAuto's 'Approved Garages' scheme to go live in April

Published:  22 January, 2013

A NEW garage scheme that will work alongside Motor Codes will go live in April.

The new subscription-based scheme is funded by GroupAuto and a number of aftermarket brands. The scheme will allow motorists searching for 'car servicing' on the Internet to both browse and book their car into a garage in through an especially designed website, approvedgarages.co.uk.

Unlike previous schemes, anybody seeking to join Approved Garages will also have to be a member of Motor Codes. However, the subscription to both is included in one monthly sum. Also unlike other methods of booking work on the Internet, the transaction is done directly with the garage that the customer chooses and no money changes hands until the vehicle is collected.

Andy Lees, a manager at GroupAuto said: "Unlike other garage schemes, the Approved Garages network doesn't necessarily work in opposition to other schemes, instead it is designed to work alongside them, to provide a network of garages that motorists can trust."
