The HIC004 scan add-on tool acts as a protocol detector and break out box but also monitors voltage and will sound an alarm if it drops below 12 volts or goes higher than 15.2 volts. It will also act as a data saver when replacing the battery or checking alternator charging conditions. LEDs light up to display protocol detected, grounds and voltage. The unit serves as a diagnostic link connector (DLC) magnifier, DLC extender and spy - you can monitor the activity on each OBDII dedicated data line. The tool is available from Hickleys.

Air filters and inline fuel filter applications have also been boosted. OE use of its engine parts include the third generation Ford Focus which has Mahle air intake modules, air filters and ducts as well as piston sets and camshafts etc. The new range of Euro 5 compliant engines in the Citroen DS series includes the brand's oil filters and other engine parts also.

Three tool sets join the ContiTech range to change timing belts on VW engines, install overrunning alternator pulleys and measure alignment. Tool Box V01 includes the tools needed to change timing belts on VW, Audi, Skoda and Seat models. Other marques will be covered by a specific tool box in due course. The ContiTech laser checks all pulleys in the belt drive are properly aligned and quickly pinpoints errors. It can be used on all V-ribbed belt drives, including those with plastic pulleys. The Tool Box OAP has been developed to install overrunning alternator pulleys; containing a range of generator cap wrench sets.
