A real time comparison site for car servicing and MOTs is now live which lists over 10,000 independent, fast fit and franchised garages. Motorists will find the site works in a similar way to insurance comparison engines and last minute booking sites, enabling them to find a local garage for their servicing and MOTs.<

Workshops are able to update their prices on www.TootCompare.com and create special offers, if required, in real time to ensure the job diary is fully booked up and to fill any last minute cancellation slots. Garages only pay the TootCompare a commission upon completion of a booking.<

CEO, Douglas Rotberg, said: “The industry desperately needs help to win trust with motorists who are confused on service content and pricing. This site enables like for like comparisons as well as the ability to get special deals where there is spare workshop capacity.”<

Garages login to the site using a ‘workshop wizard’ to enter fixed service pricing, add free text to the garage description and advertise any specialised repair work through their online profile. Garages that haven’t logged in to edit their details will still appear but with only target prices or prices not yet supplied and will be listed below all participating garages.
