DVLA to close regional offices

39 local offices to shut in money saving drive

TRANSPORT minister Mike Penning has announced that 39 regional DVLA offices are to close in a bid to save the 26m from the annual transport budget.

Plans were also announced to bring services to Northern Ireland that are already available in the rest of the UK, such as being able to tax vehicles online. NI will also benefit from being able to transfer personal number plates - which is also a valuable revenue stream for the DVLA.
