Individually tested air mass meters
Published: 01 June, 2015
A new range of the latest generation Intermotor and Fuel Parts air mass meters are now available from Standard Motor Products Europe. These provide their output signal to the ECU by pulse width modulation rather than analogue voltage, meaning the signal is less susceptible to electrical noise. They feature a fast response, thin film sensor and use a micro-processor to produce a consistent and reliable output. New applications include the Vauxhall Corsa D and Vauxhall Vectra C, Saab 9-5, Fiat 500, Ford Ka and many more. All SMPE air mass meters are individually tested and calibrated at the point of manufacture - an individual test report confirming the calibration data and serial number, comes with each unit. Full application details can be found on all third party electronic catalogues including TecCat and MAM Autocat+.
- Pump it up
An additional 45 part numbers extend the Intermotor and Fuel Parts fuel pump assemblies line-up from SMPE. An additional 200 applications cover the popular Vauxhall Astra, BMW 1/3 Series and X1, the Audi TT, Ford C-Max and Focus 1.6D. The fuel pump range now contains 650 part numbers for more than 4,800 applications.
- Grinding gears
Chicago Pneumatic has unveiled its first composite angle grinder for the vehicle service market. The new CP75XX series boasts a powerful 1.1HP (840W) governed motor, providing a high material removal rate enabling users to reduce the time taken to complete their tasks. The new series is available in 4-inch, 4.5-inch and 5-inch grinding wheels, cutting wheels, flap wheels; providing users with added versatility to best suit their application.
- Simple diagnostics
Sometimes we can forget that the simple things in life are the best. The Bosch OBD 100 is such an example, a simple diagnostic code reader that offers the ability to display the information you need without plugging in your bulky tools.
- Safety in compression
A vehicle coil spring is a dangerous object in its compressed state. Coil Spring compressors have to develop over 1000 kilos of force to compress a spring, while the same amount of energy is contained in the spring itself. If released in an unrestrained way it can be very dangerous.
- Quality is an assurance
Due to the demands on the system and time now required to fit a replacement clutch, more than ever, quality is paramount. Quality is the foundation principle for the First Line Group (FLG) and its Borg & Beck Clutch programme, which is why it has invested in a testing facility to ensure that quality is guaranteed across the range.
