Published:  25 April, 2018

The automotive aftermarket is in a good position as it moves into mid 2018 according to Garage Equipment Association (GEA) Chief Executive Dave Garratt, speaking at the GEA Annual Dinner 2018 last night (24 April).

"It's been a great start to the year, and we have three reasons to be cheerful" said Dave, who cited the continuation of the MOT in its current 3-1-1- structure, CE approval on vehicle lifts, and the success of the campaign to update diesel smoke meters in order to comply with the new MOT regulations, coming into force on 20 May. "85% of testing stations will be ready on 20 May, and I think that's a fantastic result," said Dave.

Attendees at the GEA Annual Dinner also heard from Boston Garage Equipment's Ross Tabor, who is GEA President.
