Next generation NIGHT BREAKER LASER

The latest generation of NIGHT BREAKER LASER  is the brightest halogen automotive bulb yet from OSRAM, with up to 150% more brightness compared to the legal standard bulb. The filament ensures extra light output on the road ahead. These like-for-like upgrade bulbs provide an up to 150 metre long beam and up to 20% whiter light compared to the legal standard. OSRAM NIGHT BREAKER LASER has a unique design with a laser-etched window and product name and a complete portfolio: H1, H3, H4, H7, H8, H11, HB3, HB4 ECE types.

  • Autowork Online: latest garage software update 

    MAM Software has announced the latest update to its Autowork Online garage management software. The Autumn 2018 release includes a number of enhancements and updates designed to extend the functionality and improve the overall performance of the system. Many of the application's key screens have been refreshed to improve usability or add new features. Much of the code has also been rewritten to download faster. Coupled with other technological changes, this results in improved screen loading performance, especially on slower high-latency connections.

    I work in and around MOT testing every day and yet I am daily confronted with new terms and abbreviations, new rules and guidelines faster that I can possibly keep up.

    So, just for fun here is a run through the latest DVSA guidance notes where I have added some more easily palatable descriptions and cleared away some of the ‘noise’. If you are a tester then this should help re-enforce your annual training syllabus and if you are involved in the MOT scheme it with hope expands upon the latest DVSA offerings.

    New defect categories
    Dangerous defects that are fails and present risk to road safety or the environment. Major defects that are fails and categorised as major within the fail criteria. Minor defects that we used to term as optional advisories, but now must be listed. Advisories can still be added manually.

  • Autoelectro extends availability  

    The latest release of parts from  Autoelectro  covers nine different models from Audi, Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Vauxhall, Volkswagen and Jeep. Within the latest batch of parts are four alternators. The first is part number, AEK3805, which caters for the Audi RS4 4.2 petrol (2005-2008). The second is part number, AEG1255, for the Alfa Romeo Giulietta 1.6/2.0 (2010-), Fiat Ducato 2.0 diesel (2016-), Diablo 1.6/2.0 diesel (2014-) and Vauxhall Combo 1.6/2.0 diesel (2011-). The other two are part numbers AEK3648 and AEK3833. The former fits the Volkswagen Touareg 2.5 diesel (2003-2011), while the latter is suitable for Alfa Romeo Giulietta 1.6/2.0 diesel (2010-), Fiat 500X 1.6/2.0 diesel (2015-).
