In Town Automotive apprentice wins award

 Northampton-based independent garage In Town Automotive has seen one of its young techs named as Apprentice of the Year at the SME Northamptonshire Business Awards.

Lewis Cleveley joined the garage through the Bosch apprenticeship training programme in July 2018. He was nominated for the award by In Town Automotive’s Kimberley Dorr, who said Lewis has thrown himself into his work and is “always so keen to learn.”

Lewis has also received a distinction and consistently high pass marks throughout his apprenticeship to-date.

Lewis took to the stage to receive his prize at the Grand Celebration: a black tie evening event held at the Royal & Derngate theatre in Northampton. The SME Northamptonshire Business Awards says that its aim is ‘to raise the profile of industrious, hardworking and enterprising SME’s working across the county of Northamptonshire’. With 22 category options, any business in Northampton is eligible to enter providing they employ 250 staff or less.

Commenting on the accolade, Terry Dorney, Director at In Town Automotive, said: “Since he came on board, Lewis has been a huge asset to the garage and we’re absolutely delighted that his dedication and progress has been recognised in this way.It’s a fantastic start to what is sure to be an illustrious career in the industry.”

The owners of In Town Automotive are also the brains behind garage management system TechMan, which is one of the headline sponsors of Top Technician 2020 and Top Garage 2020.
