Toyota First parts distribution moves back to normal

Published:  24 April, 2020

Garages looking to source parts via Toyota First during the current COVID-19 lockdown situation are set to find the process back on a more usual footing, as distribution moves a step closer to normal service from Monday (27 April). This will also be applicable to orders placed from today (Friday 24 April).

Commenting on the development, Robert Toovey, Toyota GB Operations Manager Trade Parts, said: “This will mean that the movement of parts and accessories will be able to flow more freely from Europe to Toyota Parts Lutterworth and onwards.

“This policy has been released to all of Toyota and Lexus Dealer partners and we are starting to experience an increasing number of dealers open their parts operations.  Our priority has been the safety and well-being of our customers and staff members, so kindly request that you are patient as they develop safe methods of working in the new normal.”

He continued: “Since the downscaling of the Pan-European operations and implementation of the special ordering measures, announced on 20 March, Toyota GB has been working to improve the supply of parts to the network in readiness for a gradual restart of normal aftersales operations.

“A number of partners have confirmed that they have reassessed their staffing levels and business operations, now deciding to lift some of the aftersales restrictions they had implemented. We recognise the current restrictive parts ordering process needs to be eased and certainly as lockdown measures begin to relax across Europe, the demand for parts may be greater than supply currently allows."

He added: “Garages that require assistance identifying an operational localised Genuine Toyota and Lexus parts supplier should contact PARTS-TOYOTA-LEXUS@MSXI.COM with details of your needs and location. We can then provide you with a number of parts sourcing options.”
