Dacia top of the MOT plops

Published:  15 June, 2020

The car most likely to fail its first MOT is the Dacia Sandero, according to statistics.

In a countdown derived from DVSA test figures, The Sun on Sunday revealed the top-five vehicles most likely to fail their first test. While the Sandero is top of the list, it is not the only Dacia in the running:

1. Dacia Sandero: 21%

2. Citroen C4 Grand Picasso: 20.9%

3. Dacia Logan: 20.3%

4. Volkswagen Touran 20.8%

5. Volkswagen Passat: 19.5%

The list looks at cars first registered in 2016, and first tested in 2019.

A Dacia spokesman told the newspaper: “Dacia produces spacious, robust, high-quality vehicles of original design that are affordable for everybody.”

Meanwhile, in contrast, it was found that vehicles produced under the Lexus brand were most likely to pass their first test.
