Fund-raising NGK employee Stuart Bayne is once again competing in the Virgin Money London Marathon to raise money for charity, although this time he will be running outside of the capital.

The marathon was postponed in April this year because of the coronavirus pandemic but runners are taking part in a ‘virtual‘ run this weekend with just the top athletes competing in London.

Stuart, who is Sales Manager – North for NGK Spark Plugs, will be running from Cambridge to St Ives in Cambridgeshire and back to complete the 26.2-mile distance on Sunday (4 October).

The 57-year-old is once again raising money for the Downs Syndrome Association (DSA).He has raised tens of thousands of pounds over the past few years via a number of fund-raising exploits including three marathons and sponsored cycle rides in Europe and New Zealand.

Stuart said: “I have been training hard, running and cycling on alternate days in preparation, and have lost 30lb in weight! I have already received generous sponsorship from NGK, and also industry contacts and friends and am hopeful of raising around £2000.”

If you wish to donate to Stuart’s fund-raising page, you can do so by logging on to and entering his name.
