Bosch launches new training package

Published:  03 August, 2021

Bosch has unveiled a new remote learning package that covers electric and hybrid vehicles, braking and safety systems, modern diesel systems and ADAS calibration.

Several of the new modules employ Bosch’s ‘Virtual Classroom’ delivery method, meaning the candidate is trained in real time by live Bosch trainers, along with an online classroom of other attendees.

A spokesman for Bosch said: “The events of 2020 caused countless businesses to rethink the way in which they communicate and convey information to their customers, especially in the areas of training and workshop support. Bosch saw this as an opportunity to venture further into the digitalisation of their popular technical training courses and have recently developed a whole suite of online solutions, with a wide range of topics, offering suitable subjects for all levels of learning. Of particular relevance, there are now several options available to sharpen knowledge on Hybrid and Electric Vehicles, of which the independent sector currently has a well-publicised skills gap.”
In 2020, Bosch introduced their Blended Learning training approach for a number of their existing courses, which had been modified to suit this delivery method.

Bosch’s spokesman added: “The courses consist of several modules, again delivered in real time, online by Bosch Trainers, followed by a short face-to-face assessment, which can be attended at a later date in order to complete the relevant qualification. “

Subjects covered via this learning method include ADAS Calibration (Level 2), Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Systems – Fast Track (Levels 2 & 3 Combined) and the brand-new Hybrid and Electric Vehicles (IMI Level 4) training. This offers the highest level of qualification available to technicians who maintain and repair HEV technologies.

For those who prefer in-person learning, face-to-face training at Bosch Training locations in Denham, Doncaster and Motherwell has recently resumed recently, with COVID-19 preventative measures in place.
