Process key to recruitment success?

Businesses experiencing staff shortages should take a hard look at their recruitment processes the Glen Callum Associates (GCA) Automotive Aftermarket Recruitment Survey 2022 has suggested, with 36% of those responding saying they would actively look to leave a job immediately if their joining experience was poor.

62% went on to observe that a poor experience with a company would put them off that business for life.

93% said there should be a maximum of two interviews leading to any role, with 77% adding that the whole process should take less than three weeks. In fact, 84% said they would prefer to be turned down on the spot.

The survey, conducted via LinkedIn, attracted over 23,000 views and also found that 70% of those applying for jobs in the industry prefer telephone discussions over email and automation. Commenting on the survey, GCA Director Glen Shepherd said: “Candidates want to be engaged, have personal contact and proceed through an efficient recruitment process.”
